Out of the four fab cities that hold fashion week, London is most definitely my favourite. There is a sense of fun and playfulness to it and I feel like it doesn't take itself too seriously. Also Simone Rocha shows at London and she is my fave...if I could go to any show it would be hers!! It seems like the few days spent at London Fashion Week would be exhausting both physically and mentally and nobody put that better than Rosemary MaCabe. If you haven't read her latest blog post on What It's Really Like to go to LFW then you can read it here.
However, having read it and totally believing everything MaCabe writes about I still want to go. I want to see the collections first and to see it fully showcased with music etc descend down the catwalk! I want the blistered feet and sweaty tube rides. I want to send home a photo of my little face behind Lana Del Rey to my mam and allow her to parade it around work joyously screaming "that's my daughter's head".
I loved the collections this year. There was a return to colour, print and clothes that danced (Christopher Kane we're looking at you). We loved the volume seen at collections like JW Anderson and Simone Rocha (our own Irish exports). And the screaming prints at Mary Katrantzou and House of Holland made me want to burn my majorly black wardrobe and dance around the flames in clashing prints and that AMAZING blue fur jacket shown at HOH (size 12 please Henry if you're reading).
Here's how you can recreate the LFW trends with some gorgeous gems from Siopaella. From feminine hues, volumous ruffles, clashing prints and faux furs shop with us to stay ahead of the trend.
