A firm favourite of the Siopaella team, Yves Saint Laurent exploded onto the 1950's fashion scene as Christian Dior's fashion prodige and fast became hot fashion commodity - debuting his own fashion house in 1961 and the famous 'Lulu' bag in 1967.

From then his designs have gone from strength to strength, creating cult-classic bags such as the 'Muse', 'Cabas Y', 'Sac De Jour', and the 'Cassandre' tassel bag. Often seeking inspiration from beatnik style of Parisian streets, he was laregly responsible for changing the perception of the modern woman's wardrobe; creating pants, trench coats and 'le smoking' tuxedo jackets to be worn both day and night.

Glamourous evening clothes were adorned with beading and artwork inspired by greats such as Picasso and Matisse, and coloured beautifully with his expertise from Morrocan inspirations in his Marrakech home, Jardin Majorelle. The Siopaella team are such big fans they visited Jardin Majorelle on our last buying trip!
